Recreation and Community Development Advisory Committee

Purpose

The Recreation and Community Development Advisory Committee is a standing committee of City Council. The Recreation and Community Development Advisory Committee makes recommendations to Council on a variety of recreation and community improvement projects, special events, programming and user facility groups. 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Recreation and Community Development Advisory Committee are briefly outlined below.

• Formulate strategy and advise Council on the economic benefits of recreation, special events, programming and city facilities user groups opportunities in Quinte West;
• Advise Council and guide programming and recreation services in its strategic marketing of  our programs and specific initiatives to enhance the quality of life benefit for residents;
• Work in partnership with the business community and provide community leadership to maximize consumer awareness of all programs, special events, facilities available in the City of Quinte West.
• The committee will abide by all bylaws, policies and procedures of the City of Quinte West
• The committee will deal with city recreation and activities issues. 
• The committee is to receive all city wide funding requests and deputations, pertaining to recreation, special events, user facility fees and programming supported by documentation such as preliminary budget, sources of funds, number of participants, and purpose of contribution.
